LYWA Multimedia: Switch Your Mind from Emotion to Peace

By Lama Thubten Yeshe
(Archive #046)

We have to make our own lives peaceful and happy. This is the way to work for peace twenty-four hours a day. If our minds harbor destructive, angry thoughts, any talk of peace is just a joke. It’s merely artificial; there’s no guarantee. The only guarantee is to fertilize our minds with peace and loving kindness towards all; that’s the way we should do it.

-Lama Yeshe

This multimedia presentation is based on a talk given by Lama Yeshe in Berkeley, California in 1983. Lama was asked to comment on how to deal with our fear and anxieties about the future in the context of the development of nuclear power and the nuclear arms race between the United States and Soviet Russia. While the situation today may be different on the surface, Lama Yeshe's observations and insights are as just as powerful and relevant today as they were when he first made them.

This multimedia title presents the teachings in a format that weaves together all the assets found in the Archive: transcripts enhanced as much as possible by video, audio and images, and supplemented by other related material. We hope your understanding of these precious teachings is deepened by engaging the Dharma in this multidimensional way.
